Promethium Carbon is hosting an event relating South African carbon offset trading as part of the proposed carbon tax.
Promethium will showcase the findings of studies relating the trading of offsets, including the applicability of existing South African commercial and financial infrastructure for use as a carbon trading platform. The modelling of carbon offset supply and demand will also be discussed.
The proposed carbon tax further mentions a domestic offset standard to complement the international standards that are currently in place. Promethium Carbon evaluated the potential of establishing such an offset standard for domestic renewable energy projects based on Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and will explain the findings during this event.
